The bare bones car, composed of a ferric cylinder and Hot Wheels wheels, consistently outperformed any other design.
A shoddy 3D printed body makes the car look fast, but the extra length caused early detection with the break-beam sensors.
A few relays were sacrificed in the processes of finding the voltage sweet-spot.
Magnetized end caps on the tubes provided and quick and easy way to attach multiple tubes together.
The initial idea was to use 10 mm bearings for wheels, however the bearings had too much internal friction. This car design was never able to coast.
